2012 G-Max Riesling – Weingut Keller
During the course of his career, it is my distinct impression that Klaus-Peter Keller has
never made a greater wine than the 2012 G-Max and I am absolutely in love with the flawless
blending of intensity of flavor and unbridled elegance in this magically complex wine. The nose
and palate are both deeper and more reserved out of the blocks than the AbtsE, but offer up a
stunning blend of blood orange, grapefruit, a touch of white cherry, kaleidoscopic minerality,
wild yeasts, citrus oils, petrol and a gentle topnote of smokiness. On the palate the wine is deep,
full-bodied, pure and seamless, with great depth at the core, haunting elegance and focus, ripe
acids and stunning length and grip on the nascently complex and endless finish. This is as good
as any young white wine I have ever had the pleasure to taste! 2020-2060+. 100
