Karuizawa distillery was born in 1955 and was one of the smallest both in size and outturn in Japan. Unfortunately, this distillery has been closed since 2011, however their sublime whiskies, keep winning award after international award. Karuizawa have released close to 300 single casks at the time of writing and as the demand increases along with their popularity, their availability decreases with collectors scrambling.
Distilled in 1972 this limited bottling was bottled on 4th October 2011.
Single cask #7038 was bottled at cask strength and released by Number One Drinks Company.
