Domaine Alain Hudelot-Noëllat (Chambolle-Musigny / Vougeot, Burgundy)- One of the fastest-rising wine estates in the Côte de Nuits, celebrated for its exceptionally elegant and finesse-rich Pinot Noirs.
History: Founded in 1962 by Alain Hudelot. Through his marriage to Odile Noëllat in the 1970s, the estate expanded to include their prestigious vineyards to the current 10 hectares. Since 2008, Alain's grandson Charles van Canneyt has been responsible for the estate. Under his management, the estate has experienced a meteoric rise and is now one of the absolute top addresses in the region.
Vineyards: 10 hectares in 4 communes and 15 appellations, including an outstanding trio of Grand Crus: Richebourg, Romanée-Saint-Vivant and Clos de Vougeot. At the heart of the Premiers Crus are sites such as Les Suchots and Aux Murgers. The estate has exceptionally old vines with an average age of over 50 years, including plots dating back to 1920.
Style: Charles van Canneyt combines traditional expertise with modern, minimally invasive cellar technology. Gentle extraction, controlled temperatures and the use of up to 10 % whole bunches ensure silky tannins and an exceptional level of flavour. The wine is aged for 18 months in barriques, with the proportion of new wood being dosed according to the status of the vineyard (approx. 20 % for local wines, up to 50 % and more for Grands Crus). Bottling takes place without fining or filtration in order to maximise the preservation of pure fruit and terroir.
