Its official name, Glen Deveron – taken from the sparkling river of the same name that rushes through the green hinterland to the sea – already reveals its gentle soul. The crystal-clear spring water of this river, soft and rich in minerals, feeds the copper stills, which are among the tallest in the entire Speyside region. This majestic height robs the heavy spirit of its coarse strength and bestows upon it a beguiling lightness, a delicacy that drapes itself like a fine, silken veil over the tongue. In the slowly fermenting vats made of larch wood, the magic begins, whilst the spicy aroma of barley blends with the salty breeze from the Firth.

Here, right by the sea, the whisky matures, whilst the Atlantic air sweeps ceaselessly through the warehouses, imprinting its unmistakable, maritime character upon the porous oak of the bourbon and sherry casks . This whisky is no smoky giant, but rather a quiet, elegant poet. Within it, luscious vanilla, sweet honey and the buttery notes of ripe hazelnuts blend into a symphony of harmony. A hint of delicate peat smoke, as fine as the mist that lays over the Firth, underscores the fruitiness of peaches and ripe apricots, whilst a precious sherry influence weaves in deep nuances of prunes and a spicy hint of cinnamon. The years spent in oak casks make it rich and complex, yet it always retains that playful lightness which sets it apart from its heavier cousins from the inland regions.
