Tasting note by Stuart Pigott on 12 July 2022: When I taste this wine, I feel like Goethe is about to walk in the door! It's as self-consciously anachronistic as a Bentley from the 1920s or a Breguet pocket watch from the 1820s. Yes, there is an oxidative side, but the combination of creaminess and silky dryness is simply unrivalled. And beneath the surface of direct perception, there is a gigantic structure and a stunning finish! Matured for 30 months in neutral wood barrels. To drink now, but best from 2024.
