🍇 Markgraf von Baden - Meersburger Chorherrenhalde Riesling GG Großes Gewächs dry 2012: A report
Winery & origin
The wines of the House of Markgraf von Baden are vinified in two cellars: in Salem Castle for the sites on Lake Constance and in Burg Staufenberg in Durbach for the Ortenau wines. The winery is a member of the Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter (VDP ) and cultivates a total of around 125 hectares of vineyards, 100 hectares of which are located on Lake Constance.
This wine comes from the single vineyard Meersburger Chorherrenhalde, which is one of the winery'sVDP.GROSSEN LAGEN® vineyards. This approximately 4-hectare site on Lake Constance looks back on a long history; the old single vineyard "Glashäusle", a former wine tavern, is integrated into it.
