Product information

Petrus requires a lot of patience. I was allowed to taste it for the first time in 1988 in the Düsseldorf Caveau. Very impressive, highly aromatic nose, but pure wood and tannins on the palate, absolutely nailed down. 11 years later, the Petrus was then one of the stars of a big 82 tasting, crazy flavour density with great sweetness - 100/100. In 2002 at a rarities tasting, it was the weakest of a big 82 Pomerol flight at the beginning, and finally destroyed them all - 100/100. 2005 at René Gabriel's big Petrus tasting very nice nose, herbaceous in the best Lafleur sense, eucalyptus and mint, nice length on the palate, great, but hopelessly overpriced wine for what is currently on offer, but it still has a lot of potential, maybe I should have just left it in the glass longer - 96/100. Last 2008 at the Ungers already quite far and mature with clear sweetness, but also the herbaceous aromas of a Lafleur - 96/100 (source: wineterminator.com Dr. Becker).
