Product information

I've had very good experiences with Lafite Rothschild so far. It's not a great wine like the Lafites of more recent years (they didn't have a concentrator back then!!!), but an elegant, spicy wine with a nice sweetness, drunk a good 10 times up to 1999, always at 92/100 level. Last drunk again in 2007 at Jörg Müller on Sylt. At first it seemed a little thin with a very herbaceous nose, also on the palate a lot of herbs and black olives. But the Lafite simply needed air, and after a good hour it really took off, great stuff with plenty of future! - 94/100 (source: wineterminator.com Dr Becker).
Chateau Lafite Rothschild is one of the most famous wines in the Bordeaux region today. It is located near the small town of Pauillac, right next to Mouton Rothschild, its namesake. According to the classification of the Médoc, Lafite Rothschild is one of the five 1er Grand Cru classé growths in the Bordelais. In addition to Lafite, these are Mouton Rothschild, Chateau Margaux, Chateau Latour and Chateau Haut Brion from the Graves region.
