Product information

This can be celestial wine, but this particular magnum was lacking the penetrating fragrance the 1950 Lafite can possess. While this wine was rich and full, there was a tightness to the nose and more compactness on the palate, as well as less perfume than usual. Nevertheless, it was an outstanding wine by any standards. 92pts' Wine Advocate # 84 Dec 1992 Robert Parker
Lafite Rothschild 1993 from the magnum was very fine, surprisingly good, 1995 in the Landhaus Bacher from the Marie-Jeanne already very far, but also wonderful to drink. Latour is certainly still worth seeking out. I was already taken with it in 1990 with its beautiful fruit and considerable length. I then drank it several times in 92, 93 and most recently again in 2000 in good bottles. Most recently in 2005, had a light red colour from a less than optimal hs bottle, like sour cherry juice, strangely also sour cherry nose at the beginning, strong but very ripe acidity on the palate, does not degrade in the glass but develops - 92/100 (source: wineterminator.com Dr. Becker).
