Reinhold Haart Winery - Tradition and elegance in Piesport on the Moselle
The Reinhold Haart winery, rooted in historic Piesport on the Moselle, is one of the most important wineries in the region. The family business has been run for over 650 years - since 2005 in the tenth generation by Theo Haart, who has continued the legacy of his father Reinhold with modern precision. The estate stands for timeless Mosel Rieslings that combine tradition and terroir-true finesse.
The legendary Piesport Goldtröpfchen vineyard, one of the oldest and most famous steep slopes on the Moselle, lies at the centre of the estate's work. The blue slate soils and the steep, south-west facing slopes give the Rieslings their characteristic minerality, lively acidity and elegant fruit. The Piesporter Domherr and Piesporter Falkenbergvineyards also contribute to the diversity of the portfolio. The vines, some of which are over 80 years old, are cultivated and harvested exclusively by hand - a sign of respect for nature.
As a member of the VDP(Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates), the estate is committed to the strictest quality standards. The cellar is characterised by careful processing, spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts and long maturation on fine lees. The wines range from sparkling, light Kabinett wines and powerful Spätlese wines to dense, spicy Auslese and dry Grosses Gewächsen (GG), which impress with their structure and longevity.
Awards such as recurring top ratings in the Eichelmann wine guide and Gault-Millauas well as international recognition emphasise the consistently high quality. Haart Rieslings are regarded as the epitome of Moselle elegance - balanced, multi-layered and with an unmistakable slate flavour.
