The secret of Latour lies in its unique terroir – a mosaic of deep gravel soils deposited by the Gironde over millennia, interlaced with fine veins of clay and limestone. Across some 92 hectares of vineyards, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot unfold their timeless interplay. The vines, many of which are over 50 years old, take root in this barren rock and wrest from it the most precious thing nature has to offer: grapes of concentrated power and deep complexity.

The winemaking process is characterised by quiet mastery. Since the 1960s, Latour has been a pioneer of controlled fermentation, destemming and rigorous selection. Ageing in new oak barrels lends the wine its unmistakable depth and structure. This legendary Grand Vin is a wine of architectural rigour and, at the same time, beguiling elegance – a wine that combines the power of Cabernet Sauvignon with the softness of Merlot to create a symphony of harmony. On the nose, aromas of cassis, violets, cedarwood, truffles and a hint of smoke unfold, taking the palate on a journey through time .
