The vintage year 1937 was long time on a height with 1934s. The considerably better staying power of the 1934s wines lets itself be seen today, however. The winegrowers had to fight with adverse weather conditions in 1937. Cool summer, little rain but also below average many sun hours provided difficult growth terms of the vines one. Today, beautiful wines can be nevertheless still found. Chateau Latour surely is part of the good locum tenenses of the vintage, there La Miss Haut Brion and chateau Petrus in different bargainer filling. The search still can be rewarding. A leading vintage in the Sauternes. The sweet wines are the non plus ultra of the Yquem one century wine, today furthermore. Despite the high prices, a purchase is certainly worthwhile.
Embellish, however, not carrying quality out in Portugal. Simpler ports for early consumption. Not declared with the brits.
Finite again one leading vintage, perhaps even one century vintage in Germany. The best year since 1921 with terrific noble sweet wines. Ideal growth terms and fine weather at the harvest time produced long-lasting and artful wines. One still can grasp it here. The search is worthwhile.
