1926
The vintage year 1926 goes down in history of the Bordelaise as a very good vintage. A terrific, hot summer let the grapes mature fully and through this extract rich, tannin strong and long-lasting wines could be produced. The wines from 1926 are only hard today to find since the plants sold quickly in the booming twenties of the last century. At that time, the wine alcoholics could hardly influence alone the very high prices. Chateau Petrus, chateau Mouton Rothschild and chateau Cheval Blanc are highly weighted wines. Chateau Latour also produces a terrific, delicious wine in 1926. The search for 1926s wines is still worthwhile, hold Cru Classé plants the lookout for grand. Also good till very good in the Sauternes!
A weak port year with thin, watery and shortlived wines. Hardly drinkable copies available. Avoiding and going back to Bordeaux!
