1951
The vintage year 1951 was a terrible year in Bordeaux. The weather terms let the producers despair nearly, chilly and damp and rainy weather led to sour, unripe wines of inferior quality. One can hardly talk about a drinking delightfully in today's time. As still only a vintage present interesting. With good luck still to find fairly charming wines in Pauillac and Margaux.
The port vintage year 1951 was not declared by the houses although the quality seemed attractive.
Like in Bordeaux so also in Germany a weak year. The weather simply did not join in and the best winegrowers also would be able to set nothing against nature. In perhaps the noble sweet area of still fairly drinkable bottles available.
