1919

The vintage year 1919 started promisingly with a perfect blood phase in spring. This aroused high expectations among the producers and the dealers. Unfortunately, a rainy July and August followed what for the beautiful first maturity phase the emergence of the real one promoted mildew by the high air humidity. The winegrowers had their hands full with work to keep the damage low. By the still unsatisfactory equipment with acting as a fertilizer and injecting means an adequate response the adverse conditions was hardly possible. The autumn was very hot, the grape good was cooked in the true sense of the word. Wines arose with a high acid amount and lacking elegance. Some might have survived, as regards taste will show a not insignificant vinegar tone. Chateau seems skin Brion and chateau to be La mission skin Brion this difficult year quite well.

The port houses had to fight with scorching heat and the floor dried out supplied the vines with too little water. Poor quality!
