1953
The vintage year 1953 goes down in long history of the Bordelaise as a very good year. A hot summer let the berries mature very well, rain in September aggravated the harvest terms, though. This had to be adjourned again and again. No tannin chunks are the wines, they rather unite the urtypischen Bordeaux charm of ease, complexity, opulence and independence, today, to be hardly found. Chateau Lafite Rothschild, chateau Mouton Rothschild, chateau Petrus, chateau Cheval Blanc and chateau skin Brion has turned out very well. The plants classified second and thirdly are but also terrific and the search is still worthwhile here. The vintage is therefore also so interesting because species is not caused by wine today any more and therefore embodies an even higher rarity value this. The parker wines of today's time have nothing in common with the plants then. The wine enthusiast should store in his cellar and buy in addition if necessary to some 1953s wines in any case. Today, bottles stored well almost have without risk and unhesitatingly to be obtained from reliable sources.
Quite acceptable port vintage year, unfortunately a too hot season and little precipitation. The dryness caused the vines problems. Not declared.
Beautiful summer and fully ripe grapes led to a top vintage of really high quality in Germany. The noble sweet specialities are the perfect example of German winegrower art and today still elegantly. By the little profit unfortunately very rare. Dry wines of selected grapes from the Rhine district and the Moselle are expensively worth her money, however. Century wines!
